Tracy Beale, the founder and publisher of TAB’s View, a local online magazine dedicated to the presentation and sharing of diverse viewpoints, joins us for this edition of Perspectives — a podcast examining the fabric of Louisville, Kentucky, brought to you by Lenihan Sotheby’s luxury real estate brokerage – to discuss their upcoming launch in September.
TAB’s View promises to be a broad-sweeping lifestyle magazine that appeals to everyone from teens all the way to baby boomers with local, national and international topics submitted by freelance writers from all around the world. Readers can learn about a museum in London, a restaurant in New York, fashion in Milan, or a travel agency right here in Louisville. For a topic like fashion, there will be less about the parties and more about charities and the individuals. Food will be a big part of the magazine as well, with opportunities for readers to quickly locate a restaurant menu and book a reservation from the “Bites and Bevs” section.
“We like to have the story behind the story,” Beale explains. “One of my stories is about blind dates, but from the perspective of a person who is literally blind. It’s really about soul-searching and how to find the root of somebody without any visual stimulus. Our stories are about feeding your soul.”
Beale says she was inspired to create TAB’s View by her father who “has a heart of gold” and “would give the shirt off his back” to help people. Tracy Beale says she’ll use the media forum as a way to give back to the community and be more charitable.
To get ready for her magazine’s big launch, Tracy Beale has been ramping up her social media sites. She’s done podcasts. She has also gone the more traditional route with a few billboard ads – one on Frankfurt and Mellwood, one in the Douglas Loop, and one on River Road. There will be a launch party on September 8th at the Hub and will be serving Ballotin’s flavored whiskey, one of the magazine’s sponsors, as well as video coverage of the Louisville Pride Festival.
